Mr. Li, aged 46, suffered from eczema on both legs for over a decade. He had been using Western medicine ointments without success, experiencing intense itching which even injections only temporarily relieved for two to three days. He had been applying ointments for over ten years.
After seeking treatment at Daozhong Chinese Medicine, he initially felt some improvement in the first two weeks. However, after more than a month of treatment, there was little improvement in his condition. He considered giving up treatment but discussed with the physician and switched to drinking herbal decoctions. Gradually, his eczema improved.
Treatment notes:
The patient had eczema on both lower legs and feet for over 10 years, treated long-term with Western medicines including steroids. However, the effects were mainly temporary relief of itching, with eczema recurring, particularly severe in summer. In the first month of treatment at our clinic, powdered herbs were initially used with results similar to Western medicines, but symptoms still recurred easily. This condition often results from ineffective treatment of the underlying cause with Western medications, so herbal decoctions were prescribed. After about another month and a half of treatment, symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, and scaling gradually improved, with no more recurrent itching. Later treatment focused on improving skin keratinization, achieving satisfactory results in the end.
